ASUA History and Business Areas

• ASUA was founded in March 1997 and manages a portfolio of travel insurance business dating back to 1990 that has to date managed the diverse insurance needs of in excess of 5 million insured persons.

• ASUA is an underwriting agency and as such acts on behalf of the insurers ETI International Travel Protection (ETI) part of one of Europe's largest A+ rated travel insurance groups, Munich Re, which has a €20billion capital base and offices throughout the world strategically located in the most frequented travel destinations and accessible through one call on a RICS dedicated line to Speciality Group UK Limited in London.

• As well as writing travel insurance in the United Kingdom, ASUA also underwrites travel and ex-patriate medical schemes internationally.

• ASUA is a member of the Travel Underwriters Group and since November 2004 has been granted permission by the Financial Services Authority (FSA Registration No. 308488) to carry out non investment insurance contracts. ASUA was granted its FSA European Union (E.U.) passport authority for all member states of the E.U. in 2008.

• Our policy options have been designed with the needs of the professional surveyor in mind and as such we have made sure that all policies cover business and leisure cover as standard.

• We know that value for money is important and by cutting out the usual middlemen commissions and delivering the policy via our RICS dedicated website we have created a competitively priced solution that does not compromise on quality.

• Although our plans cover the needs of most travellers we know that surveyors may need to take on special projects that involve a higher or unusual risk and our underwriters are available to members to assist with any special requests or group or corporate solutions.

• We recognise that RICS membership is international and it is our aim to service the travel insurance needs of RICS members all over the world.
